Photo trip: Seabirds, Ireland

📆 Date: 22/05/2025 – 25/05/2025.

📍 Place: KilMore Quay, Ireland.

🏠 Accommodation: We will be staying at The Wooden House (https://woodenhouse.ie/), a hotel near the port of Kilmore Quay, with shared rooms. The stay includes three nights of accommodation.

✈️ 🚗 Transport: The trip includes flights from Spain to Dublin. From there, we will travel by private vehicles to accommodation at Kilmore Quay. 

⛵ Ferry: We will make two full-day trips at Great Saltee, accessing the islands in ferry with a journey of approximately 20 minutes. Once there, we will be able to enjoy observing various species of birds and marine mammals in their natural habitat.

They are suitable for people who are just starting out in birds and photography, as well as people with more experience and background in this group of fauna who want to improve their knowledge. Trip description

📅 Day 1 (22 May) – Arrival in Ireland and transfer to Kilmore Quay

We will land in Dublin, where we will meet the group and begin our journey to Kilmore Quay, a coastal town that will serve as a base for our expedition. During the journey, we will be able to enjoy the Irish landscapes and learn more details about the species that we will find in the coming days. Upon arrival, we will take the Check-in at The Wooden House, the accommodation where we will stay for the rest of the trip. Before dinner, we will have an introductory session where we will explain the keys to the Seabird watching and photographyWe will talk about the local birdlife and resolve any logistical questions regarding trips to the island.

📸 Day 2 and 3 (May 23 and 24)) – Wildlife photography and observation days in Great Saltee

We will wake up early to take advantage of the best light of the day. After the breakfast, we will head to the port, where we will embark on a ferry to Great Saltee (approximately 20 minutes journey). We will spend the whole day exploring the island, a true paradise for bird photography lovers. Here we will find puffins, razorbills, guillemots, kittiwakes, northern fulmars, shags and gannets in full swing. There will also be opportunities to photograph marine mammals that frequent the area. During the day, guides will share photography and observation techniques to obtain impressive images. At the end of the afternoon, we will return to the hotel to rest and share the day's experiences.

✈️ Day 4 (05/25/2025) – Return to Spain

Behind him breakfast, we will have Free time at Kilmore Quay to explore the port and some points of interest for birdlife in the surroundings, being able to observe other species of birds that frequent inland areas of the country. Afterwards, we will make the Return transfer to Dublin airport, where we will end our photographic expedition with a suitcase full of memories and spectacular images of Irish wildlife.

For the exit We recommend taking:

• Comfortable hiking boots.
• Warm and waterproof clothing.
• Wildlife observation and photography equipment (camera, binoculars, etc.)
